The 'Sex' shoes

Our good friends got Evelyn some dress up clothes for her birthday. One of the items beings a pair of dressup heels. This was all fine and good....even when Evelyn made her way through the bushes of our campsite in those ridiculous shoes I still found them adorable. The situation changed when Evelyn's Aunty Joyce told her they were "sexy shoes" and Evelyn repeated in her cute little two year old voice that she really likes her "sex shoes". It is just brilliant that my daughter decided to leave out the 'y'...lol. Nearly a month later and Evelyn is still loving the sex shoes wearing them all over the house and reminding us what the pink heels are called. Poor girl, I am quite certain this will be a great story to share with her future boyfriends.

Be warned! Sappy Mommy post!

My baby, who at the ripe old age of two is not really a baby anymore but if we are being serious here aren't our babies always our 'babies'? Anyways, said baby brought me to tears tonight. There was no drama in our house at bedtime just a few minutes of play, some reading of stories and prayers. Mike and I have been saying prayers with Evelyn for quite some time now. It is a time we all seem to enjoy but tonight was special. We laid Evelyn in bed and she held out her hand to hold ours and said her own prayers. Most nights Mike and I say the prayers for Evelyn. Some nights they are said quickly while Evelyn yells at us about not being tired. Other nights they are said to a half asleep child and so on. Tonight Evelyn said her own prayers without any coaxing. She said 'Dear Juses, tankyou Mommy, Daddy, Google, friends. Help to have nigh nights. Tankyou Juses, AMEN!'.

Seriously, what a happy way to end the day.

So, my life now includes a blog. For those of you who know me I am basically an open book. One of those 'wear my heart on my sleeve' kind of people. I have, in my humble opinion, lots of fabulous tales about the drama of my little suburban life and I want to share it with the world. Not that I think the world is instantly reading my blog...but my family and friends are my world so, why not think of it that way.

I hope you enjoy!
